We’re Gradually Expanding In-Office Visits

We want to thank all of our families for your patience during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Telemedicine has been wonderful in some regards, but it has had its limitations.  We miss seeing live human beings in our office.  More importantly, we are eager to do physical exams to make sure people’s bodies are healthy.

The number of new cases of COVID-19 in Vermont continues to drop.  Much of the economy is gradually re-opening.  We’ll monitor closely to see if this translates into increased COVID-19 rates.  It there is a spike in cases, we’ll re-evaluate our approach to in-office visits.

Starting today, we are offering in-office Health Supervision Visits (well-child checks/physicals) at any age that includes immunizations.  These visits are: all visits through 12 months, 15 months, 2 years, 4 years, 11 years, 12 years, 16 years.

We anticipate that on June 1 we will offer in-office Health Supervision Visits at all ages.  If a family prefers a telemedicine visit, we’ll accommodate that, of course.

Sick visits: these will primarily be done via telemedicine.  The very few kids who have concerning symptoms, that don’t seem like COVID, and really require a physical exam, may be scheduled for in-office visits from 4-4:45 pm.  These will be done only in designated sick rooms in our designated back hallway.  Rooms will be cleaned thoroughly with bleach after each of these visits.

How are we keeping our office safe for you?  We’re keeping almost all sick visits out of the office.  We’re all wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.  Patients are only allowed to be accompanied by one parent or guardian.  Patients and parent/guardian are required to wear masks.  All visitors are screened for fever upon entrance.  We’re cleaning rooms thoroughly after visits.  We believe our office is a very safe place for you and your children.  The last thing we want to do is get anybody sick.
