Influenza Vaccination

Posted on September 18th, 2024 to Uncategorized

Influenza remains a major source of illness and death in the US.  Over last winter’s flu season there were 25,000 influenza deaths, 400,000 hospitalizations, and 35 million influenza illnesses in the US.

Only about half of Americans get a seasonal flu vaccine.  If more people got an influenza vaccine, there would be dramatically less influenza illness and death.

Influenza vaccines are effective in children.  In 2022 a study showed the flu vaccine reduced the risk of severe life-threatening influenza by 75% (CDC).  A 2020 study found that flu vaccine reduced ED visits in children by half (CDC).

Please come to our office to give your child(ren) and yourselves a seasonal influenza vaccine.
